Long time no activity, neh?

Well, for one thing I've actually moved to another state. Gotten a new job. Etc etc etc...

What was I saying?

Oh yeah, news... I've decided--as have many others on dA-- my account/gallery is getting a bit... well, clunky.

And I don't really update as much as I should, not that I feel like I have a captivated audience much of the time.

What I WAS going to do was remove my pieces that were older and not prime examples of my more recent work (well dur, they ARE old).

However, I recall feeling agitated when other artists have done this... I LIKE to see how people have progressed.

Gives me hope my art will actually improve someday. =_=

SO! What I'm-a thinking is to turn this into a fanart/fic only account, and open a secondary account that is solely for photography, writing, painting... y'know, original stuff.

It would take a LOT of shuffling about and reorganizing, but I think in the end it'd be worth it.

So, if/when I get this accomplished, I will let you know. This way, if you're interested in my original art you can watch that account, or if you like my fanworks you can continue as you have been.

Apparently my Kim/Shego art ([link]) has garnered enough attention to be included in one of those slideshow AMVs infamous for the usual ensuing art theft drama.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I know that I (and many, many others) were uncredited in the use of their works. Still... I do AMVs often enough, and it's not like I go through and credit each one of the animation team from whatever show. So... I dunno. I don't think I'll bother doing anything. I have a pretty distinctive style and it's in support of the KiGo "cause" *waves flag*

So, I've noticed that for a long time I've fallen into that bad little habit of favoriting artwork and NOT commenting on why or at least acknowledging it was good.

Gonna try and kick that starting today (unless I really have NOTHING productive to say or the person is popular and gets more comments in a day than he can probably even read).

And.

Yet again, dA and I are at odds over their 'mature content' issues.

I can understand men shouldn't have erections and women shouldn't be penetrated. Yet, we have people posing in bondage (which doesn't bother me too badly, but I can understand why it freaks some people out) and women drawn with breasts to an unbelievable degree (which really, really bugs me, but hey, we can't all like the same things).

I can understand people wanting to express themselves.

I can understand some people not wanting to see those expressions.

What bugs me is why nudity automatically = mature content.

Sure, a kid seeing a guy or a girl sitting there spread eagle with their junk showing is (most) parent's worst nightmare.

But for heaven's sake, there was a time when the masters painted the human body and it was appreciated for artistic principle and beauty ONLY. By censoring it, I believe you're actually perpetuating the damn over sexualized and objectifying society we've been nurturing the past few decades or so. I'm talking of MEN as well as WOMEN.

Sure, I'll give you that even back then it was probably pretty racy. And it was more or less common for artists to sleep with their models.

Times have changed, sure. But I stress, the difference between artistic nudes and (what most people consider) pornography is clean cut.

Meh.

Hazumu: I'm 21-years-old. ^^
Siofra: *thinks* I suppose, in earthling years, I would be about eighteen-years-old.
Asuka: *smiles with an air of knowing* Do you mean how old am I, or how old should I be?
Ellimist: I prefer not to answer this question.


2) Height?
Hazumu: I'm 157 cm tall and I hate being short. =_='
Siofra: I suppose you mean in the present day american standard measurement... I believe I stand about 5'2".
Asuka: 162 cm ^^
Ellimist: I'm afraid I'm not sure.


3) You Got Any Bad Habits??
Hazumu: My bad habit is I doodle a lot, probably when I should be paying attention. ^^'
Siofra: ... I've been told by my human colleagues I demonstrate having a 'short fuse', at times. I believe that's a negative trait, though as yet I haven't thought about a means of dealing with it.
Asuka: I have to admit. I have a weakness for foreign items. *laugh meekly* Especially if it's got some historical connections.
Ellimist: When you learn to be a Jedi, many of our taboos seem like fairly innocent 'bad habits' to those outside. I believe I fall prey to them on more occasions than I'd like.

Hazumu: REH?! O_o What kind of question are you asking me!?
Siofra: ... That's... a very unnecessary question.
Asuka: o.O HENTAI!! *SMACK!*
Ellimist: ... that's too personal. I'm not answering that.


5) Who's your Mate/Spouse?
Hazumu: *tilts head* Mate? Spouse? ... I have a someone. Sort of. *glances at drawing*
Siofra: It's advised against to date among your colleagues, as it can add an unstable variable into the work atmosphere, so I don't have one.
Asuka: *smiles with a loving twinkle in her eyes* My boyfriend, Takahiro, and I have been together for some time. He makes me very happy. ^^
Ellimist: ... I don't have one.


6) Have Any Kids?
Hazumu: No, I don't have any kids. *rolls her eyes*
Siofra: *blinks, arches an eyebrow* No.
Asuka: *giggles and blushes* My, what a question... No, no kids just yet.
Ellimist: No.

Hazumu: My favorite food is ramen. ^^ Quick and easy, no mess.
Siofra: *thinks* I suppose... soda bread?

Hazumu: My favorite ice cream flavor is probably chocolate-vanilla swirl. But, I haven't had any in a while.

Hazumu: Have I killed anyone? Not that I remember.
Siofra: As a Starfleet officers we're taught that killing is reserved for an absolute last resort.

Hazumu: *looks down, frowning rather darkly* There's somebody that I hate, but it's nobody you'd know...
Siofra: I don't believe so.
Asuka: *smiles calmly, but has an icy demeanor* Lets just say I've had a long standing grudge with a certain person.
Ellimist: ... I'm not proud of it.

Hazumu: Doesn't everyone have secrets? o.O
Siofra: It's not so much a secret as I'd like. *looks down at her hands*

Hazumu: Do I love anyone? Hai! XD
Siofra: Vulcans do not engage in such emotions... though, I suppose there are those I'm closer to.
Asuka: I love my family, my boyfriend and all my friends, of course. ^//^

Siofra: Unless I was injured, I think not.

Hazumu: I've got blue eyes. ^^

Siofra: I believe it's dusty blonde.

Hazumu: I'm pretty average.
Siofra: I suppose I'm slim.

Hazumu: Rain and sunshine are both are nice.
Siofra: I spend most of my time onboard a Starfleet ship.
Asuka: *smiles a bit, looking thoughtful* Rain, but no typhoon. Sunshine, but no drought.
Ellimist: It's been a very long time since I saw either.


19) Pool, Beach?
Hazumu: The pool and the beach are both places I'd want to swim.
Siofra: I suppose the pool. *looks slightly unsure*
Asuka: Both are wonderful, of course! ^^

20) Camping, staying home?
Hazumu: I like staying home. I'm a city kid.
Siofra: Hm. I'm not sure. At the moment I suppose a change of scenery might be intriguing.
Asuka: *giggles* Well, I do like to travel, but I'm not sure I could handle camping. ^^'
Ellimist: I haven't been to Ryloth in many years. I only camp if the situation calls for it.

Hazumu: I like cats. But, dogs aren't bad.
Siofra: I don't know.
Asuka: Cats. *nods*

Hazumu: Do I believe in aliens? I guess so. *blinks*

23) What do you do to relax?
Hazumu: To relax, I like drawing. Wasn't it obvious? XD
Siofra: Meditation and quiet music are typical ways. However, I suppose... I also find exercising to be relaxing.
Asuka: Spending time with my boyfriend is how I like to relax.
Ellimist: We're taught to use meditation to clear our minds.


24) Car or Ship..?
Hazumu: Car or ship? I don't know. o.o''
Siofra: *arches eyebrow* Starship... I suppose.
Asuka: My roadster, of course. ^^

25) What is your job?
Hazumu: The job I want is to be a manga-ka. So, I'm studying hard. ^^
Siofra: My training will hopefully end with my commission as an officer of Starfleet.
Asuka: For now, I'm going to university, among... other things. *smiles in that knowing way*
Ellimist: I am a Jedi Knight, if you consider that a 'job'. I see it as a calling.


26) Any Unusual Things about you?
Hazumu: Unusual things? I don't think so. o.O
Siofra: It's unusual for even half Vulcans to have blonde hair and blue eyes. This was because my father's genes were dominant.
Asuka: I have a very unique birthmark. ^^ Demo, I can't show it to you.
Ellimist: My sensitivity to the Force, perhaps.

Hazumu: Boy or girl? o.O Are you asking me if I'm a boy or a girl?
Siofra: I'm not certain I understand the question. Are you inquiring my gender or the preferred gender of a potential companion?
Asuka: *blinks* I'm a girl. I like boys.
Ellimist: That... is a very confusing question.


28) Favorite Place?
Hazumu: My favorite place is my drawing table. ^^
Siofra: I don't believe I have a favorite place. However, I find Ten Forward, when not at peak hours, is a very good place to observe the stars as we pass.
Asuka: Among my loved ones. ^^
Ellimist: I can't really settle anywhere, so I don't think I have one.


29) Do you like pancakes?
Hazumu: Pancakes? I don't know what pancakes are.
Siofra: They're a bit too sweet for me.
Asuka: I tried those once! They're very good!
